The Open Access model used for Global Health Action implies that production costs are mainly covered by publication fees.
The publication of an article in Global Health Action incurs a fee:
Regular article: EUR 1300 excl. VAT (Europe)/USD 1500 (rest of the world) for up to 8 typeset pages (US A4). Additional pages incur a charge of EUR 65/USD 75.
Short publication: EUR 650 excl. VAT (Europe)/USD 750 (rest of the world) for up to 4 typeset pages (US A4).
Please note: This fee applies only to publications that are 4 typeset pages or less, regardless of the article type (excluding PhD Reviews, see below); for example, short communication pieces longer than 4 typeset pages will be invoiced as a regular article.
PhD Review: EUR 475 excl. VAT (Europe)/USD 555 (rest of the world) for up to 8 typeset pages (US A4). Additional pages incur a charge of EUR 65/USD 75.
It is customary that the author’s institution covers the publication costs for articles resulting from research undertaken at the institution, or that money has been earmarked in the grant or stipend the author has received to be able to carry out the research. For a list of OA-friendly universities and funding agencies, please see here. Additional information on how to claim reimbursement/support for publication fees can be found here.
The total sum will be charged to the author(s) upon acceptance of his/her article. It is the publication year that governs the publication fee, not the submission year.
For peer review: EUR 475/USD 565 per article
